For this project, Chestnut Painting Professionals completed the full interior painting scope, including detailed surface preparation and specialty millwork finishes throughout approximately 1,500 square feet of remodeled living space.

TUSCAN TRADITIONAL TO TAILORED CONTEMPORARY
After sixteen years, the homeowners were ready to move beyond interiors defined by heavy Tuscan finishes, dated detailing, and compartmentalized spaces. Working in collaboration with Tennyson Remodel and Chestnut Remodel, Chestnut Painting Professionals was responsible for painting the entire interior of the home, including specialty millwork finishes that helped bring the updated design vision to life.
The renovation reimagined approximately 1,500 square feet of living space, transforming key areas of the home including the office, living room with dining area, family room, kitchen with eat-in area, powder room, laundry room, entry, and stairs. Our painting team carefully prepared and finished each surface to support the home’s new refined contemporary aesthetic.
As dated architectural elements were removed and replaced with cleaner lines and elevated materials inspired by European interiors, the painting scope required meticulous surface preparation and precision finishing. Walls, ceilings, doors, and trim were refinished throughout the home to create a cohesive and sophisticated palette that allows the home’s vertical scale and natural light to become defining features.
Decorative wainscoting that once dominated the interiors was removed, revealing taller wall planes that required careful drywall repair and finishing prior to painting. The updated living room and dining area feature wallpaper installed on the ceiling, paired with crisp wall finishes that emphasize height while maintaining a calm, contemporary backdrop.
In the home office, newly installed floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and architectural millwork required detailed spray finishes and precise trim work. The clean painted finishes reinforce the room’s tailored architectural presence while supporting the functionality of a modern work-from-home environment.
Throughout the home, specialty millwork painting played a central role in achieving the final look. Doors, trim and architectural elements were finished with durable coatings designed to provide both refined appearance and long-term performance.
The stairway introduced additional custom details, including a sculptural waterfall handrail and architectural balusters. These elements required careful masking and protection for a final seamless integration with the surrounding painted surfaces.
As worn carpeting was removed and hardwood flooring integrated throughout the main living areas, the surrounding trim and wall finishes were carefully coordinated to create visual continuity across the home.
The family room’s cabinetry and dramatic fireplace installation provided another opportunity for precision millwork finishing. Crisp painted surfaces balance the texture of the reeded marble fireplace tile, allowing the architectural focal point to stand out.
In the powder room, a bold color-drenched approach pairs mural wallpaper with painted surfaces and gold hardware to create a striking jewel-box moment within the home.
